Again, Tesla Motors had come up with another way to make a revolution regarding windshield wipers of the future. Tesla Motors had also applied for a patent which is a single wiper that uses an electromagnet system. If the patent had been successfully implemented, it would be a perpetual game-changer in the automotive wipers. The windshield wiper’s basic design has remained unchanged since its inception, while the wiper’s operation has changed. The single blade wiper will be expected to provide a futuristic look for the Tesla cars, and it also will use an electromagnetic and small rail. The mechanism of these wipers will be similar to the high-speed magnetic train Maglev.
While Tesla Motors had two patents, McLaren, another car manufacturer, had another potential future wiper technology. While Tesla Motors applied for a patent using a laser beam as a wiper and the electromagnetic single wiper blade, McLaren plans to use the ultrasonic force fields to replace the windshield wipers. The use of ultrasonic force field to replace the wipers had existed since 1986 when Japan Motoda Electronic Company had filed a patent, but it did not go into production.
McLaren, however, is determined to make it a reality. How did the ultrasonic force fields work? McLaren will install a high-frequency ultrasonic transducer to clear the windshield’s surface, eliminating the wipers’ drag effect. McLaren also claimed that eliminating the drag effect would make the vehicle lighter and reduce its fuel consumption. If these ultrasonics methods had been successful, then it would be another technology borrowed from the aeroplane. The jet fighter plane also uses these ultrasonic to clear the surface in their place windshield.

Although the previous wiper design is archaic, there is uniformity and equality in the design as it is suitable for all vehicles, including busses, lorries, and even passenger planes.
